Accelerated Reader Home Connect
Boswell Elementary Media Center houses some 14,292 items (over 10,000 of which are Accelerated Reader titles), 20 magazines, 1 newspaper, and 8 student computer workstations equipped with electronic card catalog, Accelerated Reader, online encyclopedia, and Internet access.
Classes come each week for book checkout. The Media Center is also open from 7:20-2:30 daily for book swap. Students may check out 2 books at a time for seven days. Kindergarteners may check out 1 book at a time. Students are responsible for all books checked out to them. Any books that are lost or damaged are expected to be paid for. Parents may check out six items for as long as a month.
Accelerated Reader is used in all grades (K-5). Its a reading management program designed to help students improve their reading skills.
Teachers periodically send home AR progress reports.A printed copy of the Boswell Elementary School Accelerated Reader test list is on file at the Auburndale Public Library (updated annually) and may be accessed at this web site. You can also search our card catalog to look at our Accelerated Reader books.
Parents can help their children by: Encouraging them to read Setting aside time to read together and discuss the stories Reading to their children (students may also take AR tests on books read to them)
